According to a recent leak with IGN FranceTom Clancy's H.A.W.X 3: Airdrift will be the third installment in the critically acclaimed franchise, aiming to reinvent the genre for a mainstream audience. Players will utilize the revolutionary 'airdrift' mechanic, allowing their jet to turn and maneuver on a flat axis without worrying about vertical space.Ubisoft spokesperson Mark DuMont explains the significance behind this new mechanic -'Both flight sims and racing games are dying. We need a way to unite the two smaller genres into a larger, more commercially viable one. Airdrift finally lets us do exactly that - mechanically turn an aircraft into a car with a single flick of a switch' He goes on to call Ace Combat fans 'idiots' who 'don't know a good flight game if one hit them across the face'No word on available aircraft, although Ubisoft has expressed interest in making Russian and European aircraft available through expansions and pre-order bonuses.
PAL is the European Playstation area. NTSC is the Western Hemisphere's. I don't know what they stand for, if anything.I don't think PAL PS3s can play NTSC games, and vice versa. This is why the game saves are not compatible.I got the Japanese FF13 demo from Ebay and was able to play the Blueray demo, but not the DVD movie it came with.
So NTSC PS3s can play Japanese Blueray PS3 games, but not DVDs it looks like. I don't know if PAL PS3s can play Japanese games.SmokeEdit: I looked up what they stand for, and found some info. I was a little wrong. It isn't just a regional thing, it's also a way of writing to the display. If you care, this is a good page to skim through for info. (third paragraph sums it up for you nicely:As a further aside, if you have a Region 1 DVD player you in all likelihood cannot play PAL DVDs both for reasons of Region locking and because the great majority of Region 1 DVD players have had their PAL playback ability disabled, not to mention the fact that most NTSC display devices cannot display PAL images. Although, any European players could revert this process to actually save his profile. If needed, send the files to me and/or Kada-Dix, we will host them if needed. You just need to find that level 40 European guy! Long time your hosting too let me know and i'll make sure we get a link to your site on our page too!

I don't know if PAL PS3s can play Japanese games. You can play any game from any region on any PS3. The problem comes when you have a game save made on a region that's different to the region of your game.
I'm almost certain you would have to redo everything.Trophies are linked to your PSN ID. You can fly in his profile under your PSN ID. The PS3 you use is inconsequential as is the save data, as long as you sync the trophies you've acquired on it with your PSN ID.When my old PS3 crapped out, my save data was lost, but not my trophies. When I got a new one and loaded up my PSN account my trophies transferred to my new PS3. I have the trophy for reaching rank 40, but not the save data for it, so no rank 40.The trophy system, or the PS3 rather, wants to see you achieve whatever it is; it won't award your PSN account with trophies that are equal to saved unlocks, such as mission completion.Hope that didn't raise more questions than answers.Smoke. But your case is the opposite.where you already achieved the trophy, and then reload a save that didn't have them.
So your trophy stayed.what I mean is I have no trophy. But when I load the save, it will say I have 'achieved' lvl 40, beat all missions on Hard, killed so and so enemies, etc. Basically all the medals and things in the Pilot Profile thing.would that in turn tell PS3 that I have 'achieved' them while I was 'offline' and when they sync, add them to my achieved trophies?!?shouldn't it?

Hi.No you still won't have them guessing they have inbuilt a function that id's the game save against your psn id. So it knows they are not your trophies! The way it works is you unlock trophies regardless of whether you are on or offline while you play the game.
When you log on to the PSN your trophies get synced (you can do this manually by going to trophies - and you should cus its the only way to back them up!)When you reset or buy a new system you back up game saves etc but not trophies, then when you sign into the psn on your new system your redownload your trophies. Please please rent the game!Just think, you can easily record and upload new videos. Try to replicate some of your PC stunts.
Do some simultaneous flying, using each other as a camera targets in TDM. I think Maka did that once, I remember it looking really cool. You can battle again myself, Kada maybe, Adnihlis, Durandal, many others. Soooo worth at least renting. If Hawx 2 were not so eminent, I'd suggest finding a used copy somewhere and picking it up just for those reasons.Especially if you are going to use the full profile, renting it will be a great learning and comparing experience.Smoke. Quote:You can battle again myself, Adnihlis, DurandalSmoke hahah I'll get 'Smoke'd!!!.pun intended.I won't stand a chance against you guys lol.I still need to add Durandal on PSN.I have HAWX on gameaccess queue. So I hope they deliver it soon. So in time I will =)probably won't go for the platinum trophy though.
Couple hundred kills with each weapon seems too tedious. Quote:Originally posted by zedex26:hahah I'll get 'Smoke'd!!!.pun intended.I won't stand a chance against you guys lol.I still need to add Durandal on PSN.I have HAWX on gameaccess queue. So I hope they deliver it soon.

Feel free to add me, I pretty much just approve all requests I notice. Also, buying a copy for PS3 might almost be the same price as renting one, these days, I've seen copies for quite cheap out there. You could even get a T-flight Hotas off amazon quite cheap too, for a proper throttle/stick experience, and it should work on Hawx 2 when that comes out.As for platinum, the tedious part is trying 50,000 times to get sitting ducks before finally getting it almost by accident in a MiG-21. Hmmmm. The invisible gun kill is one of the only challenges I wasn't able to get, that and the kill the whole team with the altitude limiter.
Even when the enemy goes invisible on radar, they are still present on the tac map. I just tend to open that up and spin in circles firing my gun and hoping for the best.with NO success lol. Most challenges are easy to get.
Some do require specifically trying to get them though, like sitting ducks.Sitting ducks was easy, once I set it up. I got it in my second match of trying to get it. Sitting ducks takes:-15 minutes-hardcore match-obviously use a jet with MTAAs and have support units active.-It helps drastically to be flying against jets with a 6 or lower for defense.Start the match, and get shot down a ton, let your team get behind for the first couple of minutes. The team that is behind seems to get more EMP strikes. When your team is a good 5 kills or so behind, work on kills enough to get a support element. If you don't get the EMP strike, keep killing only enough to get the next support element, making sure the enemy team stays in the lead by at least 5 or so.
Once you get your EMP strike, get yourself shot down. This is the key. When you respawn far away, fly straight up to about 30k feet. Then fly to MTAA range. Fire a blast of 4 from above everyone, then haul. into the fray. Wait for the MTAAs to almost refill, then use your EMP strike.
Fire 4 again. It is very possible that 2 out of the 8 will kill enemies while the EMP strike is active. Keep trying this, within the first hour you will have Sitting ducks. For me, the one that took the longest to get was the counter support trophy, specifically for drone destroyer. Drones don't reward kills or EXP, so I tend to see them as a waste of missiles most of the time.To get drone destroyer, I did a 15 minute match 1 vs 1. I let him continually shoot me down to get support units. I'd hit him with 1 JSM to hurt him, because it seems drones are awarded more to hurt jets.
MTAAs lock onto your target first, then lock onto the other 3 right after. So it is possible to get a MTAA to just fire at the drone before it locks onto the enemy planes. So I did that and followed up with JSM until the drone was dead.
Then repeated the process until I had 3 in a row.Now overall, as far as getting trophies in the time it'd take to rent the game, MOST you won't be able to get. A good portion of the trophies don't require good playing, but instead A LOT of playing. If you're shooting for platinum, unless you're going to cheat, then forget about getting that in the time it'd take to rent the game. All I have to say is this:One point four million eeeeeeah ecks pee.And yeah, games like this are all about how comfortable you are with the controls. You'd have some difficulty with us for sure, but it could still be fun. And you can get a good kick out of being better than quite a few players you come across, which I'm sure you will.I took some of Adnihilis' great advice and started playing AC:Zero again today since my PS3 doesn't have any save data for it.
It's very difficult to get unused to the Hawx controls. Specifically, the throttle/brake and yawing being reversed. On a side note, I always accept friend requests on the PS3, why not right? But it is kinda weird, I get requests from people who I have no idea who they are, most of the time.SmokeEdit: Just make sure you have something to do when you first bring the game home, from renting or buying. Put the game in, then visit some friends on the moon or try to sail around the world or write a novel maybe. By the time you are done, the game should be almost done installing. Quote:Originally posted by landon326: Invisible gun kill luck, though permanent gun upgrade enabled on realistic mode in an A-10 might help.Kill whole team with altitude limiter wasn't so bad, you just need to get the whole enemy team high enough once you get one, though it helps to have a team of people with mics for that, also playing on realistic on a mountain map would help.I think maybe you got lucky with sitting ducks, I remember it being much harder for several of us to get.
I doubt we tried that exact method however. Most counter-support things just take time for the right situation to come up in a full game and you'll just get them without trying, I'm pretty sure I even got drone destroyer without trying, thanks to multis locking onto drones too.AC:Zero is awesome, yeah. I'm not sure I ever completed 100% of stuff in it. Probably should sometime. Quote:Originally posted by landon326:Please please rent the game!Just think, you can easily record and upload new videos. Nut i logged off in disgust at how bad I can be sometimes! Quote:Originally posted by zedex26:alright so GameAccess (similar service as GameFly, but for Canadians =b) just confirmed they've shipped out a copy of HAWX.
Should be getting it within 3 days. Loltime to go out and find myself a cheap headset. Lol If you have a Bluetooth mic, it'll work, like, say, from a cell-phone. I just bought the official PS3 one. 50 bucks, but it works fine.Look forward to playing you, though I tend to be on late nights. And Kada, it just takes some re-getting used to. I'm still not as good as I used to be, but generally speaking, we still outscore most everybody else routinely.EDIT: I need to think out some of these posts more thoroughly.
HehACZero IS awesome, but overall, 4's the best. Yet, unlocking everything in Zero's much fun, and the huge number of enemy aces is a nice challenge.
I've played that game to death, unlocked it all, and now just play the missions to get all jets to that 999 targets killed stat. Greetings all.1. The PS3 profile I provided for Kada-Dix and oOMadMaxOo to host are from the U.S. Running on an NTSC PS3. I didn't realize that the profiles are not cross-compatible on PAL European PS3s. Thanks to you both for hosting this for the users who want access to all the jets without having to work through the missions.2. On a similar note to oOMadMaxOo.
The PC FHAWK save file from the PS3 is also not cross compatible with the xxxxx (callsign) savefile found in WinVista USERSusernameSaved GamesTom Clancy's H.A.W.XProfilesxxxxx even though the files look alike on the surface. I copied and renamed the PC file from the David profile across to a PS3 Flash drive with the PS3SAVEDATA. Directory for HAWx. The PS3 recognized the original PS3 profile name (stored outside of the xxxxx file apparently), but then hung up as it couldn't load the FHAWK file, so thanks to UBI for making the HAWx profiles non cross compatible across PC to PS3 NTSC to PS3 PAL.b. As has been posted above, for the European PS3 PAL systems, just find someone who has completed HAWx to level 40 and have them save the profile to a Flash Disk on the PS3, zip it, and send it to Kada-Dix to host and everyone should be happy in PS3 land.3. I encourage y'all to back up your PS3 game profiles on a Flash Drive and then to a PC hard drive so you can recover in the event of a PS3 system crash.
Steps are as follows:a. Insert empty USB flash drive into PS3 USB slotb.
On the PS3 main menu screen, go toGamesSaved Data Utility (PS3)c. Scroll down to a profile and press triangled. Select Copye. Select USB Device (USB Flash Memory)f. It will then copy it into a directoryPS3SAVEDATAFHAWKPARAM.PFDPIC1.PNGICON0.PNGPARAM.SFOg. You can then take the PS3SAVEDATAand send it to whoever has a compatible PS3system or back it up to a separate computer.h. To restore the saved profileOn the PS3 main menu screen, go toGamesSaved Data Utility (PS3)USB Device (USB Flash Memory)Select the profile to restore and presstriangle Copyand it will put it back on your PS3 (justsay yes to overwrite profile on PS3 if italready exists).4.
Other things you need to know about the PS3 HAWx profiles:a. If you are using a profile not created using your PS3 account (i.e. Using my DaGuy profile)1) HAWx will turn off Trophies. You cannot open trophies by using a profile not created using your own account.
Save Game Hawx Level 40 Download
But what should it matter if you have access to all the planes2) There are 51 trophies to earn. You do not have to complete all the challenges to get them.3) Trophies earned are apparently tied to your PSN account. Profiles are not. If your PS3 fails or you get a new PS3 and need to re-establish your status, you will need to re-establish your PSN account on the new machine to get the trophies listed, but you will also have to restore your backed up game profiles to get you back to where you were in the game.5. On the PC HAWx there are two ways to establish level 40:a. Use the David profile (available elsewhere)b.
Use WinRAR to actually access and modify the file which dictates the total points necessary to achieve any given level (method also listed elsewhere)1) Using Method b. Has an interesting phenomenon in which you still have to complete the missions in order to open up the planes that are opened after completing the mission (though you'll have access to everything else)2) When you go into TDM, everyone will look like a 5 star general on your screen menus even though they aren't3) This method may corrupt any other profile used when playing such that you can't take the profile and use it on an unmodified version of PC Hawx.Just some interesting things I learned while trying to solve problems found while playing HAWx on the different systems. Hopes this helps.Cheers and happy flyingDementor666aka psn Mischief-Makercallsign DaGuy (level 40)callsign Demon (too many using this name, level 32. Playing through again the hardway for fun, but not able to earn anymoretrophies).
Mostly, I'd say forget about them. Look through the list, some you can get easily with a new profile. You can have multiple Hawx profiles on your one PSN account. So you can start a new one and still use Dementor's.Or, I'm not sure if using someone else's data disables the trophies all together. If that is the case, you won't be able to get your trophies even using a new profile. It might be worth creating a new PS3 account first, and use the full profile there, and use a new one for your PSN ID, I think that'd be safer.
Hawx Level 40 Save Game 2
Unless if someone can clarify whether or not you can use the full profile and still obtain trophies on the sane PSN ID using a new profile.I would suggest at least once doing the campaign without the full profile to get the true feel of the PS3 Hawx. Then yeah, if you can use the full profile, I'd say do so. Any jet that is fun to fly takes way too long to get.Smoke. The DaGuy profile can coexist with your other HAWx profiles on your PSN account.
Trophies are only disabled when using the DaGuy profile or other profiles not created on your PSN account. Trophiescan always be earned when you use your own profiles. The idea is that you earn the trophies on your own merits, but if you choose to use an unlock profile, then you can't earn the trophies.
This maintains the integrity of the PSN compare trophies system so one knows where one truly stands compared to others in the PSN system (unlike the HAWx leader boards which don't make sense at all)Once you have earned a trophy, it remains earned no matter how many HAWx callsign profiles you have you have on your PSN account. On my system,DaGuy at level 40 is 100% complete. My 2nd profile Demon is at level 34, but HAWx still lists trophies as 100% complete. My secondary PSN account Backup lists only a few HAWx trophies earned even though the DaGuy and Demon profiles are backed up onto this account (this is my internal PS3 backup area to allow me to recover to my Mischief-MakerPSN account without having to plug in a USB jump driveIf you want to earn the trophies, use your own profiles.
When you just want to play a TDM for fun without worrying about trophies but still having access to all the planes, use the DaGuy profile. To get good, you really have to play thru the whole thing putting in a lot of time to get experience (I.e. Learning the tricks). In the PC world as there aren't trophies to allow you Tom compare performance using a complete profile saves you from the grind to get to level 40.
On the PC one can get access to skin mods for all the different planes and even fly a B52 into combat. If you still want to earn the trophies using your own profile and can't find someone to boost, there is another way to do it.Jam the Red Eagle co-op session into infinite play using an MTAA plane (A-6A has 72 MTAA in co-op). When done right you can get up to 10000 points per hour. While this may get boring after awhile, it can get interesting if you are just racing against others for the kills. This is how I achieved level 40 with the DaGuy profile.
The thread dates back to around Jun-Aug 2009 if you are interested in the gory details.
